Shimla Manali Overview

Himachal Pradesh has become the most popular holiday destination in the country. Shimla and Manali are the state's most visited tourist spots. With such close proximity to the states of Punjab and Haryana, many people who are visiting Himachal also go for a tour of the capital city of the states. This tour starts from Delhi, takes you through the beautiful views of Shimla and Manali, and then drives back to Delhi to end the journey.

DAY 1

Delhi - Shimla (343 km - 7 hours 33 mins)

Arrive Delhi airport and drive straight to Shimla. Upon arrival at Shimla, check in at the hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 2

Shimla

After breakfast, visit Himalayan Aviary, Jhaku Temple, Sankat Mochan. Afternoon, take an excursion to Kufri. Evening walk around Mall Road. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3

Shimla - Manali (247 km - 7 hours 35 mins)

After breakfast, drive to Manali and check in at the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 4

Manali

After Breakfast, visit Atal Tunnel ,Sissu Lake & Solang Valley : SOLANG VALLEY- Located at a distance of 13 kms from Manali, Solang Valley lies between Solang village and Beas Kund. It offers a beautiful view of glaciers and snow capped mountains. Since the valley has fine ski slopes, it is a perfect place for skiing. The guest house of the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, Manali is based here. This institute is the venue for the winter skiing festival and also offers training in skiing to the tourists. In winter, the valley becomes a skiing paradise with children of all ages slipping and sliding over the fresh white snow. When snow melts in the summer, skiing is replaced by parachuting, zorbing, paragliding and horse riding. For snow lovers, the best time to visit Solang Valley is between the months of December to February. Later visit - Jogini Waterfall, Club House, Van Vihar, Tibetan Monastery, Hadimba Temple - Built in 1553, this four-story wooden Hadimba or Dhungri temple is famous for its exquisitely carved doorway. It is located in the middle of a forest called the Dhungiri Van Vihar. Vashist Hot Water Springs and Temple (3 kms) - Across the Beas river is Vashist, a small village with natural sulphur springs. Modern bathhouses, with Turkish-style showers, have the hot water piped into them for the convenience of the visitors who come here to benefit from the medicinal properties. There is a pyramidal stone temple dedicated to Vashist Muni and another Temple of Lord Ram. Evening shop at the Mall Road. Return back to the hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

DAY 5

Manali - Delhi (532 km - 12 hours 10 mins)

After breakfast, check-out from Manali hotel and drive back to Delhi. Reach Delhi by evening and transfer to the airport or railway station for your onward journey with fond memories of trip. Tour Ends... (All distances and timings are approx.)
